Doctor Watchout's heroic return to the hip hop world features an incredible range of musical styles, from the hardcore and metal vibe of "Plagarized Bitches" to the mellow harmonies of "Faking an Orgasm." In this new record the Doctor grapples with current issues as he fights the past, the present, and begins to make some predictions about the future. Truly an ambitous project, "The Prophecies" yearns to break free from the sonic mess that is the Dwellaz while remaining true to the hardcore base that the band has established over the last 7 years.

When we asked Docwatchout to explain what his core audience is going to experience in "The Prophecies" the Doctor replied, "Dis rekkid is specifically arranged so that motherfuckers can somehow reach a new state of enlightenment and shit when they hear the motherfucker. See, bitches that ain't ever heard a rekkid like this one before are in for a surprise. This rekkid is a fuck of a lot like the motherfuckin' Ten Commandments when Moses brought 'em down. Everybody knows that somethin' bigger than a human being made that shit. That's the same way with this rekkid. It's bigger than me ... like my spirit and shit."

When asked to clarify his statment, Docwatchout only offered "I'm a motherfucking crazy man" as a reply.

While undeniably true, the Doctor does locate one or two honest moments in the record. In what appears to be a legit attempt to write about real events from his life, "The Prophecies" shows us a fragile, uncertain, and frequently frustrated lord of the hip hop game. Which is pretty interesting.

This record also introduces MC Lyle Wiley--another hardcore motherfucker, who, in a recent interview, said, "I have absolutely no idea at all who Doctor Watchout is, nor do I ever intend to."

One may begin to wonder, considering the fact that several tracks, including one entitled "I'm Lyle", might just indicate otherwise.

In general, this monstrous clusterfuck of a record ought to be approached with a certain level of caution. Also, as many of the Dwellaz records have already taught you ... if you have an equalizer--use it.
